Haunted Hill "Cladefurnace"

Level 6 dungeon for a party of 6

"Haunted Hill" near Barri horse ranch was originally named 'Cladefurnace'. Cladefurnace used to be a place where gnomes boiled water. It was abandoned and long-forgotten. A bugbear has moved in with some troglodytes he bosses around. The troglodytes capture sentients for the bugbear, and the bugbear does recon to find easy or useful targets for the trogs.

At one point in the past the gnomes wanted to boil water into steam on land, contain the steam in steel containers, then transport the steam over boat. This endeavor failed, but the machinery for drawing water into giant steel tanks was still useful. The gnome civilization of old kept the facility as a well. The machines in Cladefurnace cannot draw up fresh water any longer, but if it doesn't stay pretty much how it is, the region's drainage will be altered drastically, causing an ecological upheaval. The gnomes who built it returned to the mountains to apply the knowledge they gained. No one has any reason to mess with the well, but it is sometimes home to creatures that are too violent to go anywhere in civilized society.

Parts of this old brick-and-metal watering hole have been abandoned to wild animals. It is unsafe to be in here.

Basically, there are two levels. Both were meant to be shaped like a staggered capital H and have east & west sections. The upper level was mostly for boiling and is half-cave half-quarters. The lower level was mostly for plumbing and is mainly dried reservoirs.

There are three keys (cyan, blue, red), which open doors locked by cyan, blue, or red locks. Red-locked doors are also trapped (the red key will disarm the trap).
